The Final Countdown

WOW!!! God is amazing! He has truly been working all along. We have been learning that we do not do that much at all. No matter how rehearsed they are or eye-catching they are, our body worships and skits are just entertainment without the Presence of the Holy Spirit. God is so great!

This weekend was a long weekend and as we close in on the last few days of the trip, the schedule is getting even busier. Last Friday night, after getting back from KM 83 and 64, we had our last prayer meeting with the Jovenes - it was awesome! God was moving in each and everyone of their lives. There were tears of repentance, freedom, and JOY! What a privilege it was to pray with them and for them.

Saturday, we hosted another VBS. This time only about 70 children showed up, but it was probably one of the best VBSs that Pastor Andy has seen. The children were extremely blessed. The team did a great job. It was such a blessing to see them give their all and do it so selflessly in the midst of a very hot day. Later that day, we hosted an Open-Air Outreach after service and 5 (although some say 7) came to Christ. Gloria A Dios!

Sunday, I (Pastor Nate) preached in the morning with Jess Lee translating. We were both feeling a little under-the-weather and was wondering if we did a good job. God showed us again through the response time that we cannot take away from His Glory and that He does not love us any less no matter what we do. Pastor Andy preached at the Evangelistic service in the evening and again the response was truly mind-blowing. We saw people reconciled. A few repented of their sins and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Halleluyah! Praise God!

Monday, we went to another church plant nearby that was hosting their 5 Year Anniversary Service. We performed our body worships and skits. Angela Cho shared her testimony and I gave a gospel message. Although we did not see physical fruit, we do believe that many seeds were planted that day. Please pray that God will continue the work He has started in that place.

As the time for our departure draws near, the team leaders have been discussing debriefing. However, we do believe that God is still working and that He has a few more things He wants to teach us. Please pray that the team will continue to give it their all and not let off the gas. We want to leave this trip with no regrets. We wish to show the people of Peru the full extent of Gods Love. This is probably the last update for this trip. That means that we will also be needing your prayers for traveling mercies. Please pray that God will be with us everywhere we go.

Thank you for your continued support and we will see you soon.

Cantare tu nombre mi Dulce Jesus!

These lyrics are from one of the songs we sing (I will sing of Your Name, my sweet Jesus). Our team has been blessed to see people sing these words in worship wherever we go.

We returned from our trip to the pueblos of Kilometer 83 and 64 last night. Our 2 day trip was a fruitful time. Pastor Willer has planted churches in both pueblos and we accompanied him on his monthly trip to encourage the local churches.

In KM 83, the team had a great time blessing the children with VBS during the day and had an awesome worship service at night. From the start, we could feel that God was present with us at the service and knew He wanted to do something great. I preached on the importance of prayer in James 5 and during the prayer time, everyone in the church was blessed. 3 of the nationals who were visiting accepted Christ during the prayer time. Praise the Lord!

KM 64 is a new church plant. The church has many kids but still only 6 adult members so we spent the majority of time playing and loving the kids. We had service last night and had a great time of worship and encouraging the church. After praying for them, we returned home to rest back in Pucallpa at Pastor Willers place.

The team is doing well and very healthy. We always talk about how blessed we are with health. We are thankful for the prayers of our churches back home. Please continue to pray for us and our last week. There is a lot that God wants to teach us and show us in these last 8 days in Peru.

We will have a lot of ministry this weekend again. We have service tonight, Sat and Sun. I will be preaching on Thur and Sun night. P. Nate will speak on Sun and one of the church members will speak on Sat night. Sat will be a day of VBS with the kids and an open air outreach in the afternoon.

Please pray for us. We remember all of you in our prayers and are thankful for our partnership in the gospel.

in Christ,
Pastor Andy

Peru Update #4

Hello AMI Family! It is with great privilege that I get to write this email to you. We appreciate all your prayers very much and are praying for you all as well. We have been having a great time with Pastor Willer and la Iglesia Tabernaculo. The services and translations have been going well, and we have been so blessed by the faith and love of our fellow brothers and sisters here in Peru.

A few ministry updates, (in addition to the regular house visits, small groups, and midweek services) that have been happening the the last few days-

Six people got baptized this past Sunday by Pastor Willer. Praise the Lord! It was such a wonderful opportunity to witness and be a part of. We went to Lake Ucayalli, where about 50 people of the congregation watched. Each candidate gave a short testimony and declared their life to Christ before Pastor Willer, Pastor Andy and Pastor Nate submerged them into the lake.

On Saturday, we held a Vacation Bible School at a local school (Escuela 64093). We expected 60-200 children, but God was faithful and brought 210 children! It was a blessed time of fellowship, games, crafts, gospel puppet presentation and worship. Many of the children were not members of Iglesia Taburnaculo, yet were incredibly attentive during the gospel presentation and were excited to participate in worship. Everything went very smoothly, and our team was very flexible and showed a lot of unity. Praise God. We will be teaching another VBS this coming Saturday, so please be in prayer for our preparations and that God brings many more children.

Yesterday, the Jovenes put on a Sports Day for us. We played about 7 different games and at the end had a U.S vs. Peru Soccer tournament... we let them win....

Overall, we were so encouraged by everyones sportsmanship and had a great time of fellowship with the Jovenes. The losers had about 50 water balloons thrown at them, but they shall remain nameless at this time.

The most amazing news is the fruit we saw last night. Pastor Andy preached on Psalm 103 and at the altar call, two people came forward to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, as well as 5 people reconciling their relationship to Him. GLORIA A DIOS. He is definitely moving here in Pulcallpa, and we are incredibly blessed to be His humble servants here.

Please continue to pray for us. We are seeing God do a lot and know that He loves His people. The team is doing well. I am blessed by their attitude and their desire to love the people, especially through prayer.

We leave for Kilometer 83 and 64 tomorrow, which are two villages that are a days travel away. They are two church plants of Pastor Willer and we will be there to encourage their church. We will be spending about 2-3 days there. Please pray for traveling mercies, spiritual and physical protection and safety, and most of all that God would prepare the hearts of the people we meet, and open opportunities to minister mightily in His name. We are excited and anxious to go tomorrow, again, please lift us up in prayer.

Please enjoy the picture of our team with the Jovenes inside Iglesia Taburnaculo!

Gloria a Dios,
Jessica Lee

TGIF!

TGIF! But that also means that the weekend is here and the weekend is jam-packed with ministry. Tomorrow, Pastor Andy will preach in the evening and again on Sunday morning. I (Pastor Nate) will preach on Sunday evening. Please pray for us as we preach the word of God. Please pray that the translation will go smoothly and the right words would be used to pierce the hearts of those listening. Please pray that God would prepare the hearts of those receiving the word.

Additionally, tomorrow, we will be teaching a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for 60 to possibly 200 children - everyone from Pucallpa was invited. Some of our more musically talented brothers and sisters will be leading worship on Sunday in Spanish. We will also continue doing house visits. Please pray for our ministry this weekend.
So far, we have seen people come back to Christ. We have seen people accept Christ as their Lord and Savior for the first time. We are being blessed and we are also seeing God do some amazing things during our response times after services. Please pray that God will continue to work POWERFULLY during the next few weeks.

We hope to post a picture or two in the next few days. Please be patient.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

Ministry in Peru

Gloria a Dios!

The team is in Pucallpa and doing well. We have been having a great time with Pastor Willer and la Iglesia Tabernaculo. Last Sunday was packed with ministry. We had a morning worship service followed by our team helping with the Vacation Bible School for 60 children. Later in the day we joined one of the small groups in the church and prayed for them. On Sunday night, we had another service. I preached on what it means to follow Jesus from Luke 9 and when I asked if anyone wanted to recieve prayer, almost the entire congregation came to the front to be prayed for. Gloria a Dios.

During the weekdays we have been focusing on getting to know the people in Pucallpa through visiting their houses. Whether they are believers or unbelievers they have all been very encouraging in letting us into their houses to share about Jesus and study the Bible together. We have service every other night with the church. Pastor Nate spoke yesterday and led a great time of prayer. We have been greatly encouraged by the church and how God is moving in their lives. The group that we are primarily working with and hoping to encourage and strengthen, los jovenes (the youth, ages 18 - 27) have grown from 20 to around 60 over the years. We see great potential in the church for growth in their own lives and also to spread the gospel in Peru along the Ucayalli river.

Please continue to pray for us. We are seeing God do a lot and know that He loves His people. The team is doing well. I am blessed by their attitude and their desire to love the people, espescially through prayer. We have bonded greatly and no longer feel like 4 churches but 1 AMI family.

Upcoming ministry that you can pray for are our daily house visits where we either encourage Christians or share the gospel with unbeilevers, tomorrow (Thursday) we visit a hospital to look after and pray for those who are sick and injured and our worship services with the church. I will be preaching on Thur, Sat and Sun at Iglesia Tabernaculo. We will also be heading to the Ucayalli River as P. Willer will baptize 7 brothers and sisters on Sunday.

Gloria a Dios,
Pastor Andy

Hola! Gloria a Dios!

The team has arrived in Pucallpa, Peru. After a long day and a half of traveling and living in airplanes and airports we are safe and healthy at Pastor Willer's house. We have been getting to know La Iglesia Tabernaculo and already are greatly encouraged by their love and hospitality. Every meal is a Peruvian feast as Pastor Willer"s wife has been preparing banquets for us since we arrived. We only hope that God can use us to bless the church as much as we have already been blessed.

The other pastors and team leaders and myself just met with Pastor Willer and have planned out the 3 weeks of ministry. It is packed with evangelism outings, small groups, worship concerts and church services and we are very excited for the weeks we have.

Please pray that God would continue to bless us with good health and with great love for the people of Peru. Tomorrow (Sunday) will be a busy day of 2 church service (Pastor Willer and I will split the preaching), VBS for the children, a youth group meeting and a meeting with the leaders of the church. Please pray that God will use mightly on this first Sunday

en el servicio de Senor,
Pastor Andy
