Gloria a Dios!
The team is in Pucallpa and doing well. We have been having a great time with Pastor Willer and la Iglesia Tabernaculo. Last Sunday was packed with ministry. We had a morning worship service followed by our team helping with the Vacation Bible School for 60 children. Later in the day we joined one of the small groups in the church and prayed for them. On Sunday night, we had another service. I preached on what it means to follow Jesus from Luke 9 and when I asked if anyone wanted to recieve prayer, almost the entire congregation came to the front to be prayed for. Gloria a Dios.
During the weekdays we have been focusing on getting to know the people in Pucallpa through visiting their houses. Whether they are believers or unbelievers they have all been very encouraging in letting us into their houses to share about Jesus and study the Bible together. We have service every other night with the church. Pastor Nate spoke yesterday and led a great time of prayer. We have been greatly encouraged by the church and how God is moving in their lives. The group that we are primarily working with and hoping to encourage and strengthen, los jovenes (the youth, ages 18 - 27) have grown from 20 to around 60 over the years. We see great potential in the church for growth in their own lives and also to spread the gospel in Peru along the Ucayalli river.
Please continue to pray for us. We are seeing God do a lot and know that He loves His people. The team is doing well. I am blessed by their attitude and their desire to love the people, espescially through prayer. We have bonded greatly and no longer feel like 4 churches but 1 AMI family.
Upcoming ministry that you can pray for are our daily house visits where we either encourage Christians or share the gospel with unbeilevers, tomorrow (Thursday) we visit a hospital to look after and pray for those who are sick and injured and our worship services with the church. I will be preaching on Thur, Sat and Sun at Iglesia Tabernaculo. We will also be heading to the Ucayalli River as P. Willer will baptize 7 brothers and sisters on Sunday.
Gloria a Dios,
Pastor Andy
